Okay, I have a question. Has there ever been a movie sequel with the subtitle “The Final Chapter” that has actually been the final chapter of that series? Between Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Lake Placid: The Final Chapter, and Puppet Master 5: The Final Chapter, at least Shrek: The Final Chapter had the decency to change its name to Shrek Forever After right before its release.

If it were opposite day, would my username be “TheSadScubaDiver”?

My point isn’t that those didn’t exist before. My point is that they seem to be the most popular videos as of nowadays (and it’s not just my videos that aren’t becoming as popular, though I do put a lot of effort into making them high quality). Remember when people like TomSka, people whose videos actually had scripts and had a higher production value, ruled YouTube? They didn’t have to upload multiple videos per week to become popular, but with some recent changes to YouTube’s algorithm… bleggh.

Plus, in my opinion, they are partially responsible for the recent downfall of YouTube’s average video quality.
 
What do I mean by that? Well, I’m sure you’ve noticed that YouTube drama videos, reaction videos, unboxing videos and the like have become highly popular on YouTube, more so than other types of videos.
 
There’s actually a reason for why these videos have become more popular: YouTube has recently taken the policy of halting promotions on users (specifically partners) who don’t upload at least one video or more per week, encouraging quantity of videos per week over quality of videos. (And yes, this is actually in their newer guidelines. Look it up.)
 
Reaction/unboxing/drama videos take way less time to make than scripted videos with more effort put into them, so those are naturally taking off, with channels that upload one or more videos per week becoming the most popular.
 
Now tell me, what was one of the first well-known (for better or for worse) channels to start uploading more than one video per week, and even per day?

Yeah, that’s a no on that. My (unofficial) girlfriend really likes petting my hair; plus, I’m in a band, and long hair helps with headbanging.

Or at least the dark side of YouTube. I feel like their policy of uploading multiple videos per day is partially responsible for YouTube punishing partners who don’t post at least one video per week (like me).
