Man, it’s times like this that I wish I could program, even for a small proof-of-concept game. Maybe it could be written well as a story, but I guess Tirek kinda did the same thing in the first half of the S4 finale.

I’m pretty sure that I’ve already mentioned this, but for sometime now, I’ve been playing around with ideas for a humanized setting, focused on Spike in particular. To be precise, in this setting Spike is a half-human half-dragon hybrid, and because of his heritage, he suffers from… “unique” difficulties as part of his adolescence. There is his strength and his fire breathing, but probably the more significant challenge we faces is his… “urges.”
And yes, these “urges” are sexual in nature. Specifically, Spike is struck by an almost overwhelming desire to mate for a couple of days every month. It isn’t so strong that he’s incapable of controlling himself, but it is extremely uncomfortable and will resort to self harm in order to try to get it under control. Part of the story focuses on his efforts to find a spell or potion which can suppress these urges, if only temporarily.
I will admit, the story started out primarily as a clop fic. But as I thought about the story, I’m starting to debate whether or not it should be a clopfic. The story would be changed fairly significantly if the clop elements would be removed, but in all honesty the clop is secondary to Spike’s struggles to reconcile his human and dragon halves. And where they are present, they’re more focused on the sensuality and intimate aspects, since Spike actually really doesn’t like sex all that much (he fears that he might lose control and not stop if his partner tells him to).
The main thing that would change if it were changed if the story was switched from a clopfic to a more standard story would be the Mane 6’s awareness of Spike’s condition- in the clopfic version, Twilight is aware of it, and has been taking steps to “assist him” with it, and informs the rest of the Mane 6 as well. In the safe version, only Spike is aware of his condition, at least at first, and so struggles with it in silence, being too ashamed to ask for help.

Well, I’m gonna break down and start with my anthro fic again after this story I’m finishing up. Thought about giving up on it after I saw that scent story on Fimfiction. Worried my fic wouldn’t be up to snuff, reader believing I ripped off the author of scent’s story since my story contains anthropomorphic ponies that are like 7’6” tall with a human protagonist.
After careful thought, I think I’ll proceed with the story since that’s the only similarity that is between the two. I hope to make the story rather engaging. It’ll be semi-comical while taking a darker tone down the line.

Ok, I had to post this up after I had one of my “how high are you” moments while thinking up lines for my current story.

The six ponies are left to wonder what happened with Twilight forever swearing she’ll never experiment with other alicorn magic, just sticking with her own. ||

It won’t have any porn, and background shipping at the most. It’s just character development slice-of-life. He split off from Garble after seeing his true colors:
And now he’s found his way to Ponyville being a jerk. Old habits die hard.
After his character development and heel-face turn, the other dragons find Ponyville. Naturally, they’re defeated, but I can’t quite figure out how. How should the climax be resolved?

I can’t really kill them, too dark. And dragons will be resistant to most magic, so banishment is out. Should they just be arrested? It would feel kind of cheap for Garble to just ragequit and let him have his tea parties.
I’m also thinking Fizzle will have to relocate since his gang found out where he lived. A heartfelt goodbye and an epilogue in Appleoosa?

Dragons aren’t really part of Equestrian society, so I’m not sure they can be arrested.
But, him having to move on is a perfectly valid (and justifiable) way to end the story.

From what we’ve seen, hoard is the only way a dragon grows without waiting for thousands of years. I don’t think greed growth would gel with the theme of the story at all.

I’m deciding to have Fizzle move to Fillydelphia in the end. The epilogue will have him working as a metalworker, demonstrating to a field trip or something. How would he look with glasses?

I think a fic where Nightmare Moon returns and finds herself in Fallout Equestria or just a post apocalyptic Equestria would be neat. But unlike my previous suggestion like this where she’s the hero cause she has to be, this one, she’s the scourge she always was.
Without the mane 6 around and friendship pretty much dead, she turns it to night. And the rest is a futile attempt to stop as her, and possibly followers she gains, as she laughs at the ponies attempts to beat her. Also she learns about guns…and she likes em WAY too much.

I think the hardest thing about those kinds of stories is making sure all the death and destruction doesn’t make the audience apathetic, which is why I probably could never write something like that. I’m not sure how you’d do that. Give readers a hopeful spot that everything’s going to be alright, and then dash it to the ground like a spilled slushie, maybe?
Also, just throwing a question out there, but if you’re creating personalities for background ponies and putting them as the main characters in a sci-fi AU, does that kinda defeat the purpose of writing a fanfic in the first place? I mean, are you better off just writing original fiction at this point? I’m still thinking about ponies as “giant alien transforming robots” in an affectionate homage/parody of the Transformers cartoons, but the personalities and roles of the Main 6 have changed so much, that I feel using the Mane 6 as those characters would be too OOC.

Trenderhoof writes a review for the Daring Do books, generally saying (in sort of a typical hipster-reviewer manner) that they’re “enjoyable mindless genre fiction.” However, he writes a scathing critique of Ahuizotl, who he feels is “a terrible antagonist: impossible to take seriously, incompetent, and otherwise unbelievable.”
Ahuizotl, being very much real and not a fictional character, takes this criticism rather personally. Initially he does this by kidnapping Trenderhoof Bond villain-style and telling him to rescind his review, but then he decides to rope Trenderhoof along as a “consultant” to his latest villainous scheme.

I got the idea for a sort of greentext-style story where Anon(thinking of using a different name) is a night shift janitor in an aquarium, and just before locking up, hears soft, alluring voices from a section of the building that has yet to be opened.
Basically, the sirens as sea creatures interacting with a human, perhaps turning into humans at some point. No real endgame in mind, I’m just really fixated on them being sea monsters as of late.
