Honestly, I feel it is refreshing to have romantic rivals that aren't terrible people or otherwise unlikable. I don't know of what you speak of involving Luca, so I think maybe I haven't seen that episode of yet.

Yeah, imagine if it ends up like Star vs. the Forces of Evil, just hated with Nicktendo addressing its problems with the show and everyone agreeing that the show sucks because of the whole "MCs dating someone else" trope that ruined SVTFOE for everyone else.

Remember last time since Starco was broken up by Nefcy (at the time I thought it was Bisignano and Hammersley, but not Nefcy because I was fooled thinking that she loves the ship and she wanted it to be canon on S2 but she admits to hating it on Reddit with her reason why Starco was broken up from S2 to S4.)

Also, advice to future creators of ship-filled series (similar to either SVTFOE or Miraculous), if you want the two MCs to have other experiences and don't want them to hook up, please do other kinds of drama or conflict rather than shipping one MC with someone else.

Especially since so much chemistry had been built up between Star and Marco during the first two season, and really we need more couples that are also best friends, to then have them actually only get together in the last episode. With Star specifically tell Tom after StarCrushed that she just wanted a friend, that she didn't what him trying to get back together with her.

I let Marco and Jackie slide, because of how it was established early on Marco's feelings on the girl he'd been crushing on since kindergarten. With neither him, nor Star realizing their growing feelings for each other until after he finally managed to get together with Jackie and they started dating. Tom and Star on the other hand getting back together… Yah, that annoyed me.

Even so, it kinda ruined the show for everyone, and the same will happen to Miraculous with Lukanette and Adrigami instead of Ladynoir/Adrienette.

Imagine Nicktendo and EZPZ having the same problems with Miraculous as they had with SVTFOE.

Funny, I've seen both referred to as nepotism.

Anyway, neither one is bad when the person who is being helped by it is actually good at what they do. We got Janet Jackson thanks to nepotism. We got Skid Row thanks cronyism (lead guitarist Dave Sabo had been childhood friends with Jon Bon Jovi). Doesn't make either artist any less good.

The problem is when they're chosen just because they're related or friends with someone, and is unqualified for the job. It's one thing to know someone that's good for the position, it's another to hire them just because you know them.

Conversely, the band Nelson became famous because the two main members were the sons of Ricky Nelson, and that band was… not good.
